Pastor Dr Robb Thompson

Robb Thompson of Tinley Park, Illinois, founded Family Harvest Church in 1981. Serving as a UPS Driver at the time, Dr Thompson taught Bible study above the local bank to a group of 23 people. Each week the attendance increased, and within a year, more than 100 devotees came to hear him speak. In 1983, the group chose the name The House of Glory, and the first meeting as such took place in a local restaurant. Rob Thompson’s group continued to expand, meeting in a room above a ceramic shop and then a warehouse.
Robb Thompson’s first own building in which he delivered the Word was located on Wolf Road in Orland Park, Illinois. A charismatic leader, Dr Thompson’s motto remained “Where Love Never Fails,” and the congregation changed its name once again in 1988 to the Midwest Christian Center. In 1990, the congregation moved into its current location in Tinley Park, and Robb Thompson presided over the ribbon-cutting ceremony. In 1994, the church changed its name to Family Harvest Church, and the congregation still grows today. Through Robb Thompson Ministries, members can find mission work and travel worldwide to aid Family Harvest Churches. He has sponsored trips to Guatemala, Haiti, South Africa, and the Philippines.
The church features its own café, available Spanish translation and open captioning during the Sunday morning service, a special room for nursing mothers, and a dedicated children’s church. The well-being of church members is Robb Thompson’s highest priority, and to that end, he ensures they find a welcoming, caring atmosphere that offers a myriad of personal services and facilities. Robb Thompson’s main tenets include family, integrity, accountability, excellence, and service.
In addition to serving as Senior Pastor at Family Harvest Church, Robb Thompson travels the world to serve as a guest speaker at a number of different churches and events, including the Jakarta Praise Community Church in Indonesia and the New Life Christian Fellowship’s leadership conference, held in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Aside from his busy schedule at Family Harvest Church, Robb Thompson makes time to serve as International Co-Chairman of The Gabriel Call, an organization dedicated to training entrepreneurs. He also serves at the Dan El Institute of Higher Learning, an online Christian college he founded and for which he functions as President. Dr Thompson currently lives with his wife of 30 years, Linda, who acts as the Women’s Ministry Director.
